ENCAVIS acquires a solar park already under construction in Dietfurt and Breitenbrunn (62 MW)
Hamburg 12 December 2024 – The Hamburg-based wind and solar park operator Encavis AG has acquired a solar park (62 MW) in Dietfurt and Breitenbrunn (Bavaria) from FRONTERIS Energie GmbH (FRONTERIS), which is also responsible for its construction. The park, which has been being built since September 2024, is expected to be connected to the grid in the second quarter of 2025 and will produce an average of around 67 gigawatt hours (GWh) of green electricity per year.
“With a generation capacity of 62 MW, the solar park in Dietfurt and Breitenbrunn is our largest solar park in Bavaria to date. With this first joint project with FRONTERIS, we are increasing our total generation capacity from wind and solar energy in Germany (on the grid and under construction) to 780 MW,” says Mario Schirru, CIO/COO of Encavis.
“The Dietfurt project - in close cooperation with our partner company PRIMUS Solar GmbH - is one of the largest projects in our more than 20-year company history. We were very pleased with the competent and goal-oriented cooperation with the authorities and municipalities and, of course, the new partnership with Encavis AG. We are optimistic about further opportunities for cooperation in the areas of solar, wind and battery storage,” adds Marcus Vilsmeier, Managing Director of the FRONTERIS Group.
The electricity purchase is secured via an EEG feed-in tariff with a term of 20 years.
