Greencells Group successfully participates in flagship EPC project in Nigeria

Saarbrücken, 13 February 2023 – Greencells Group (Greencells), a global developer as well as EPC and O&M service provider for utility-scale solar power plants, has successfully participated in the construction of Nigeria’s largest grid-connected PV plant. Greencells was awarded the project as Greencells Eauxwell Consortium in May 2021 and acted as the international partner in the EPC consortium, implementing the project with the local partner Eauxwell Nigeria Limited. The 10 MW Kano Solar Project was funded, planned, and constructed under the stewardship of the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority (NSIA) which had been appointed by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to further the development of photovoltaic energy production in the country.

His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari was present on site to inaugurate the plant, accompanied by various senior stakeholders including the Governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, the Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mrs. Zainab Ahmed, and Farouk Gumel, Chairman of the NSIA Board of Directors. His Excellency expressed his satisfaction with the high-quality implementation of the project by the different project parties.
