Hannover Messe 2024 – Innomotics presents the latest generation of energy-efficient motors and its cloud-based industrial IoT platform "Inspire IQ"
At this year's Hannover Messe, Innomotics – the new home of electric motors and large drives from Siemens – will be represented for the first time as an independent company under its new brand identity and with its own booth (in Hall 9), which will be located directly adjacent to its parent company, Siemens AG. According to the International Energy Agency, industry is responsible for a quarter of global CO2 emissions. In this context, the focus is on electric motors and electric drive systems. They consume around 70 percent of the energy. The field of electric motors is therefore a key starting point for making the global economy more sustainable. Furthermore, an efficient use of energy contributes to a cost-conscious economy. Especially in times of high electricity prices, this aspect is becoming increasingly important for all industries. As the leading supplier of low to high voltage motors, geared motors and medium voltage converters, Innomotics focuses on both aspects: efficient energy use to achieve sustainability targets and cost-effectiveness when using our motors and frequency converters. Under its purpose "Redefining reliable motion for a better tomorrow", Innomotics is presenting its new products at the Hannover Messe: in addition to the new "SH71" and "SH132" permanent magnet low voltage motors and the ‘"High Voltage Modular" motor as a further trade fair highlight, Innomotics will also be presenting the cloud-based industrial IoT platform under its new name "Inspire IQ" (previously called "SiDrive IQ"). Innomotics' product highlights will not only be presented at the 200 square meter booth, they will also be brought to life for visitors by means of augmented reality. CEO Michael Reichle says: "Innomotics combines the promise of innovation power and reliability with the experience of 150 years of drive technology and electric motor construction. Despite our long history, this year's Hannover Messe is something very special for our team: we’re proud to appear at the world's largest industrial trade fair under our own brand identity for the first time. Thus, I would particularly like to thank Siemens AG for their great support in setting up our company. The trade fair provides a suitable setting for us to let visitors and customers experience how Innomotics helps to make industrial companies around the world more energy-efficient and therefore more sustainable." Michael Reichle continues: "For us at Innomotics, the pursuit of energy efficiency in electric motors is about two things: we need to provide an answer as to how climate targets and the industry's growing hunger for energy can be reconciled. And the energy costs for users of our motors must also remain within reasonable limits and contribute to increasing our customers' productivity. After all, they account for the majority of operating costs over the lifetime of an electric motor: approximately 95 percent. In comparison, the costs for purchase and maintenance are hardly significant." Versatile and highly efficient: new permanent magnet motors meet the highest standards The innovative, highly efficient permanent magnet motors represent an advancement in the field of low voltage motors. While producing the same output, they are up to three frame sizes smaller and up to 43 percent lighter than conventional motors, thus saving space. This makes them ideal for use in conjunction with pumps, compressors, extruders and many other applications. At the same time, the motors set new standards in terms of peak performance and energy efficiency. Thanks to their significantly reduced energy consumption and reduced CO2 footprint, they meet the requirements for energy efficiency class IE5 (Ultra Premium Efficiency). The high-performance motors from Innomotics with their robust cast iron housing are the first choice for all important applications in both conventional and rough industrial environments. Even under extreme conditions, they are extremely reliable, versatile and easy to handle. With the "SH71" and "SH132" as the latest additions to the permanent magnet motor portfolio, Innomotics continues to stand for maximum customer benefit: low energy costs, low CO2 emissions, high power density and future-proof efficiency classes for upcoming regulatory requirements. Launch of global, modular motor series With the new "HV Modular" motor, Innomotics is laying the foundation for its globally available modular series in the field of high voltage motors. With its increased power density and therefore space- and weight-saving design as well as increased efficiency, the "HV Modular" motor is one of the market leaders in this segment. These characteristics predestine the motor for a wide range of applications from oil and gas to chemicals and water to wastewater treatment. "Inspire IQ": improved digital services under a new name The cloud-based industrial IoT platform previously known as "SiDrive IQ" has not only been renamed to "Inspire IQ" in the course of the rebranding, with its new IQ sensors it also offers unique insights into operating data and the status of the converters and drives with a special focus on the cell and the converter cabinet. The sensors record voltage, humidity, air quality and arcing, among others. This data enables predictive maintenance by the customers themselves or by the Innomotics service teams, thus helping systems to achieve higher availability and longer life cycles. With this, "Inspire IQ" delivers real added value in terms of sustainability. The platform is used in a wide variety of industries, particularly energy-intensive ones such as the oil and gas industry, the steel industry, the chemical industry and cement production. For instance, German customer Rohrdorfer Zement uses "Inspire IQ" to ensure maximum availability and keep the environmental impact as low as possible.
