HPS receives the "Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award" for the world's first year-round electricity storage system for homes

Berlin, 30 November 2021 - HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH (HPS), provider of picea, the world's first year-round electricity storage system for homes based on green hydrogen, today announced that it has been selected from 168 entries to receive the "Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award". The award recognizes innovations from the Berlin metropolitan region that are both unique worldwide and offer solutions to global challenges.

Entrepreneur Antje Vargas, who presented the award on behalf of the entire jury, said: "Living green means living in the future, not in the past. This is quite sexy. Just like the product we want to recognize today. But I would not only like to honor HPS, but also to thank you on behalf of all of us for developing this product. We are all very proud of you."

picea is the world's first hydrogen-based electricity storage system for one and two-family houses. The jury of the Berlin Brandenburg Innovation Award chaired by Prof. Oliver Günther, Ph.D., President of the University of Potsdam, selected the ten best innovations in the region of the German capital as nominees from 168 entries.

Presented annually and jointly by the Berlin Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises and the Brandenburg Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Energy, the Innovation Award recognizes innovative and outstanding entrepreneurial creativity. Involving enterprises and other institutions as private partners has also made the award an award by businesses for businesses.
