HPS Home Power Solutions and Bonava agree on cooperation

  • Year-round electricity storage system picea can be viewed in show house in Schulzendorf near Berlin.
  • HPS opens up important sales markets with cooperation.
  • Bonava expands offering in the field of climate-friendly energy supply

Berlin, 7 June 2022 – HPS Home Power Solutions (HPS), the world's leading provider of green hydrogen-based year-round electricity storage for buildings, and Bonava, one of the leading residential project developers in Europe, have signed a cooperation agreement. As part of the agreement, the picea year-round electricity storage system was installed in a Bonava show house in Schulzendorf near Berlin for testing and presentation purposes.

“The market for new buildings in the residential sector is one of the most important sales markets for HPS. The cooperation with Bonava offers broad market access and opens up further growth potential for us,” says Zeyad Abul-Ella, founder and CEO of HPS. “Bonava can offer customers the latest standard for energy supply for new buildings with the picea system. The desire for an independent and CO2-free energy supply is thus becoming tangible for a larger number of homeowners.”

Rico Kallies, Berlin regional manager at Bonava adds, “In the wake of the global development of climate and energy crisis, there are increasingly new energy supply concepts on the market. Not all systems suit us. This is because we have a highly standardized product due to the platform design, and the energy supply system simply has to match it. As a complement, the picea year-round electricity storage system offers a marketable solution for residential buildings based on hydrogen with high energy efficiency for the first time.”

The picea system has been in operation in the show house since January 2022, where it will be presented to interested customers by Bonava and HPS sales staff for at least two years. During a walk-through appointment, they will be given an explanation of how picea works and how it interacts with the photovoltaic system and the heating system. In addition, HPS regularly organizes events for the media and politicians in the show house.

The first public viewing day is on July 16, 2022, in the time from 10 am to 4 pm. Please register at https://bit.ly/3ajPXnb.

About picea
picea is the world's first commercially available hydrogen-based electricity storage system for buildings. The surplus energy generated by the photovoltaic system on sunny days is stored as green hydrogen and used in the dark season to supply electricity and heat. picea enables a CO2-free full supply of energy all year-round and reduces heating costs. Per year, a picea system avoids about three tons of CO2 emissions and this is equivalent to the amount that 130 spruce trees capture annually. picea has received several prestigious awards, most recently the Handelsblatt Energy Award, the smarter E Award and the Berlin-Brandenburg Innovation Award.

About HPS Home Power Solutions GmbH
HPS is the world leader in the development and production of year-round electricity storage systems based on green hydrogen for homes, multi-family houses and commercial properties. HPS addresses important areas of the transition to green energy with its highly innovative picea year-round electricity storage system. Users can generate and store carbon-free energy to supply buildings with electricity and heat throughout the year. The Berlin-based company was founded in 2014 by Zeyad Abul-Ella and Dr. Henrik Colell and stands for reliability, independence and sustainability in decentralized energy systems.
